Candido Jessee Abeyta (Music Director & Saxophone)

Saxophonist and music director Candido (@candido_abeyta on Instagram) is an educator, musician, and arranger (he’s responsible for many of the arrangements of this year’s show). He’s a first call saxophonist for popular artists such as Joshy Soul, Neon Trees, and others. He also travels and performs with his horn section Omega Horns (@omegahorns on Instagram).

Ash anderson (Constance)

Ash is a performer and writer based in Salt Lake City, Utah who has performed all over the world from Orlando, Florida to Tokyo, Japan. After seeing Deep Love as a freshman during their time at BYU-Idaho, Ash has followed the show hoping for the day they’d be able to be a part of it. To step into the role of Constance is an absolute dream come true! Some of their favorite past roles have been Cathy in The Last Five Years, Suzanne in Air Supply’s original rock musical A Wall Apart, and Ariel in The Little Mermaid. They are currently working on their MFA in screenwriting at Antioch University and can't wait to start bringing their own stories to life! ⁠Her solo single “So It Goes” is available to stream on Spotify under the artist name Aisling.

Sheldon Bladh (florence)

Sheldon’s very first project as a college freshman was working on the makeup crew of Deep Love. She remembers walking across the stage of The Capitol theater, watching the band set up, and thinking “One day, I want to be in a show like this!” Now, over a decade later, that dream is coming true! Sheldon is happiest when she is performing, she also enjoys event planning, going all out for Halloween, and renovating her 1962 home with her husband Josh.⁠ You can follow her renovation journey on Instagram at @home.by.candlelight

lydia Curtis (Costume Design)

Lydia is a freelance costume designer who's currently working towards a degree in Costume Design from UVU. You can see some of her past designs on her Instagram at @thepinkgirllives. She says “Shout out my cousin Melany Douglas who, since we were little, we've had dreams of being famous celebrities together and so working on a project like this that's on such a scale neither of us have experienced feels like the universe coming back full circle. I love my cousin and I'm so grateful for her helping me with this project and obviously being my bestie.”

Al Deans (sound design)

Al is a musician and rock star in his own right. He's a luthier and visual artist, as well as a guitarist, bassist, and drummer. He's an official sound guy at Pulsar Audio, and he's the magic that has been elevating the whole band and all the singers in Deep Love for years. He's also got a rock opera of his own, The Adventures of Walter Ergo--fans who attended our February shows got to rock out to it as part of a Deep Love/Walter Ergo double feature! melany douglas (costume design)

Deep Love is the first project Melany has worked on costumes for and she’s loved every second of it.

Mike Dunn (Friedrich)

From his origins in classical music—to his current passion in blues rock, Mikey is a master of combining voice with emotion and music to create intimate yet powerful experiences for his audience and himself. You can also catch him with the band Seventh Seal (@seventhseal.band on Instagram), rocking the blues with hella soul. ⁠

Ford Thunder Erickson (Guitar)

Ford has been with Deep Love for 13 years. He did his Sociology college internship with Deep Love in 2012, even though no one is sure how that got approved.

Stacie Fleischer (drums)

This is Stacie's 2nd year drumming for Deep Love, which she does when she's not drumming for Queenadilla (@queenadilla on Instagram), The Melancholy Club (@melancholy.club.slc on Instagram), and a handful of other awesome projects--you can see some of them on her instagram at @staciedrums. She says "I love this project because of the caliber and passion of all the musicians involved. The story telling part of this project has been a beautiful thing to be a part of."

Dillon is the founder and lead guitarist of the band Dream Emporium (@dreamemporiumofficial on Instagram), and can also be found on TikTok as Jingles96.

Ariel LaFontaine (Hair & Makeup)

Ariel is an artist who works primarily in the mediums of makeup design & wardrobe styling. She fosters a variety of interests in the creative and outdoor cultures and takes a special interest in productions that utilize clothing, music, & environment as core elements of their visual storytelling. Ariel has been with Deep Love since 2011 and stands in the corner admiring your funeral attire after each show.

This project has allowed her to get bigger and stranger with her designs than ever before. By day she works at an addiction treatment center and is passionate about recovery and mental health. Caleb has played Keys for Deep Love since February of 2023, and has been a huge fan since 2019. (In 2020 Deep Live was his most listened to album on Spotify.) Liz is a director, actor, intimacy director/coordinator, and avid rock music fan. This is her second year directing Deep Love, after co-directing with Melanie Stone last year.
